THE PLACE
THE EVENT
THE PHILOSOPHY
The spokesmodel from Planet XS, strikingly played by Tyra Banks.
Four hours of makeup, no hair, green skin, and she was still gorgeous!
She made the whole idea of XS Technology seem so appealing.
The chairman of XS Tech, L.C. Clench, played by Jeffrey Jones.
His shooting schedule started at 1:00 am, but he was totally focused.
He made the whole idea of XS Technology seem pretty scary...
SIR, a robotic corporate presenter, was voiced by Tim Curry, who gave the character an evangelical flair.
He demonstrated how the XS Series 1000 Teleporter could send a small creature from one side of the room to the other in an instant.
Skippy, the critter who was the subject of XS Teleportation, started out looking worried. He finished looking charred.
Inside the main teleportation chamber, wall screens carried a live broadcast from Planet XS.
As the live signal came into focus, we discovered Spinlock (Kevin Pollak) and Dr. Femus (Kathy Najimy), our host and tech engineer.
She says that the technology is not ready, and he is putting sales before science.
"Well someone has to be a role model," he mutters.
Once he realizes that the show has gone live, Spinlock is all smiles.
The live broadcast is interrupted when the massive Chairman Clench shows up with a change of plans.
Instead of teleporting one human to his planet, he has decided to teleport himself to Earth. That way he can meet LOTS of humans...
Clench doesn't care if the equipment isn't set up for this purpose, he wants his way.
Spinlick pressures poor Dr. Femus to dispense with safety precautions and do what the boss wants.
And of course, things go terribly wrong...
The errant teleportation signal delivers a giant ALIEN to Earth. It breaks the equipment, escapes, and all goes dark.
A worker uses a night-vision goggles to attempt a repair. The alien doesn't need night vision. It can tell a good meal when it smells one...
After the inevitable CRUNCH, and the splash of "blood" on the audience in the dark, things go a little nuts.
Finally managing to explode the alien, Spinlock apologizes for any inconvenience XS may have caused.
Director Jerry Rees hangs out with the XS crowd once the carnage is done.
